You could try going to Task Manager and see what apps are running, might be
able to figure wout what's looking for the drive that way.

Hey guys,
I get the same error. I am working with a guy from HP who is trying to help
me solve the issue, he says it's a problem in the Update 2 that came
installed on the system. Mine did the same thing, brand new out of the box.
Actually at first I could not get the radio to work and was getting an error
about no disk that was slightly different. He worked with me through email
and got rid of that. Now I can watch TV, etc...but that annoying error window
sits there until I close out of Media Center. SURELY someone can fix this for
us. "windows - No disk" "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk
into drive" With choices of Cancel, Try Again, Continue.

I'm getting the same error: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a
disk into drive . Cancel | Try Again | Continue". There's no drive letter
mentioned, just a space. I too have a brand new HP computer with Media
Center 2005 Rollup 2. Everything I've tried seems to work OK except that
this annoying message box won't go away.
I'm anxious for a solution too!

ThomasM (and all others)
I have recently posted to Aaron's blog who works on media center for
Microsfot. I am hoping to get a response from him. I still have the guy from
HP working on it for me too, I will let you all know as soon as I get the
problem solved (IF? LOL). I wish someone here would post for us as well!!!

RE: Windows Media error |

OK, I know what the problem is. It has to do with my front panel media card
reader which has four USB drives. If I disable my USB mass storage reader or
stop my USB drives, then start Media Center, it works fine without putting up
the offending message box. The minute I enable the USB drives, though, the
message is back. I've tried disabling the USB mass storage reader and then
re-running the Media Center setup wizard, hoping that perhaps that would
reset it to not try to read anything from the USB media card readers, but
that didn't do it. When I reenable the USB media card readers the problem
comes back.
So does anybody know if it is possible to configure the Media Center to
ignore these USB drives?

Hey guys...
Thanks to Aaron I got a solution to this problem. (If you have an HP) It
appears as if HP has a program pre-installed that causes this error to pop up
in Media Center. The program is "Image Zone", we don't know if there is a
fix for it yet, but I uninstalled the program and the error window is
gone...Voila...Just like that!! So, I suggest uninstalling Image Zone and see
if that helps you....Please post and let me know if that helps!!!

That worked for me, too! I removed the "HP Image Zone" from the Media Center
and re-enabled my USB media card readers, and now I no longer get the "no
disk in drive" message boxes.
Thanks for the help!

Hey Thomas...
I also spoke to someone with HP and they said they are aware of the problem
(yeah now that I told them about it LOL) and they are working on a "fix" for
Image Zone, he suggested I uninstall update rollup 2 until they fix the
problem with image zone. I told them I'd just do without Image Zone Instead.
LOL
