I'm quite big fan of photo story 3 and regularly compile snaps from my
friends social events and post them on my website. Unfortunately many of my
group have Mac's and don't seem to be able to play the latest shows despite
having the latest codecs for windows media player on their machines.

I understand that PS3 uses a special codec designed specially for it that
provides a higher quality image and transition than if you use one of the
previous video codecs. Is this the problem? Is the PS3 codec not available
to WMP for Mac's?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

the codecs for the Mac player are hard-coded into it, not downloaded as
needed as WMP does it on PCs... and the newer codec for PS3 stories isn't
included.... the PS2 one is.

Indeed when I mentioned latest codecs I should have said latest versions of
WMP.
So recompiling with a more generic codec it is then.

Do you know if there are any plans to include that in later versions or will
it remain a pc-only scenario?
Thanks for your reply P.J.

MrG,

You can run a PhotoStory 3 output (wmv) through MovieMaker and make a new
movie file. It will be larger in size because it will not include the
opimized image codec, but will play on a Mac.
