I've encountered a problem with an installation of Pervasive SQL on my XP
Embedded Sp2 system.
During the setup (installshield) the setup stopped and asked to insert
another disk.
I was running the setup from:
C:\Pervasive 8 Sp2 Client
I had to cancel the installation

After hours of searching I just renamed the Pervasive 8 Sp2 Client folder to
SETUP
So I started the installation from C:\SETUP and I had no problem with the
install
I wonder what causes this problem and if need to ad some component for this.

I have another (maybe related) setup problem with Novell Client (from
www.novell.com)
During the copying of files the setup keeps asking for file locations. So I
have to browse through several directories all the time

Any sugestions?

Alex,

I don't know anything about the Novel Client but I was wondering if:
- you were able to repro the "directory name" issue on XP Pro?

- could it be a problem with the space in the directory path? (then it is the app installer problem)

- have you tried watching on installation process with Regmon?
