FBA repeats phases between reboots (endless loop) |
|
|
Hi
I install some components which need a reboot during the FBA process (before
phase 12000). The problem is: after a reboot the FBA does not continue with
the next FBA phase, the FBA starts installing the components before the
reboot again. (Example: Reboot 1 - FBA processes phase 9000 to 10000 - Reboot
2 - FBA processes phase 9000 to 10000 - Reboot 2 - ...) So the FBA repeats
the phases between two reboots, sometimes 2 or 3 times, or i get an endless
loop (i stopped after 5 iterations). Reboot examples: reboot before FAT-NTFS
conversion, or after the fbreseal-component. If i change the FBA phase of
some component, the whole FBA-process sometimes completes or fails. But this
looks like a try and error job.
I cannot see any error messages in the fbalog.txt (e.g. invalid path...). I
examined the registry of my target device -> in
HKLM\System\ControlSet001\Control\WindowsEmbedded\FBA\xxx there is a
Reg-Entry 'FBAWasHere' which should be set to 1 if the FBA processed this
phase, but this entry is not existent, even though the FBA processed this
phase.
Has anybody a similar problem?
regards

Hi Andreas,
Do you have EWF enabled in your image? That could explain it perfectly. EWF start working after first reboot so that could be why
you see problem after a first reboot.

Hi Slobodan!
Thanks for the information. But i do not use any EWF Component in my target
designer configuration. I install the xpe-image on a pc with a harddisk and i
want to have write access in my target device.
And i think the EWF should be activated after a full
installation/configuration of a system (last FBA phase, ca. 65000).
My problem occurs during the FBA process.

Hi Andreas,
If it is not EWF related then check this one:

Slobodan
PS:
If EWF is set to active in TD it can be activated as soon as driver start working which happen after first PnP happen and computer
reboot for first time.
