Hello.

Not sure if this forum is where this should go, but I'm hoping someone in
here will be able to answer this question...

.... essentially I'd like to change the default settings in Paint [and I
realize it's not the most prized of all apps, but it has its uses for me]

-- The main thing I'd like to do is make it so the default setting is not to
have the image centered Horizontally and Vertically.
-- And, if possible, the margins, but the centering is really what I'd like
to change.

Is this something I'd have to change in the registry, and if so, does anyone
know the reg settings to change offhand?
If it's not the registry but something else, can anyone help?

Any help would be great.
thank you.

Download the Beta Paint.Net, you might find the settings easier to change.

Mary --

Thank you for your time and the idea of using the paint beta.

I'll check out the beta, but one thing you mentioned was that I might find
the settings easier to change with this -- does that mean you know how to
change the settings for the current version of Paint?

No, I have no clue how to make Paint change the defaults. It doesn't take but a
couple of seconds to change a page setup in file.

Hey Mary --

Thanks for your response.

I hope you don't mind a question to claify something for me...

.... when you wrote:
"It doesn't take but a seconds to change a page setup in file."

.... I was wondering what you were referring to. Please forgiving me for not
understanding right off. Were you referring to the Paint.Net?

Again, I very much appreciate your time.
Matt

Hi Matt
I think Mary was referring to the following:-

After you open Paint (Start/Progs /Accessories/Paint) and open an image, you
can go to File/Page Setup and change the margins and position and size of
the image on the page prior to printing.

I have tried to save the margin settings and reopen the file but Paint
reverts to the default settings.

Regards
Bill
